Listing and managing experiences on OTAs
We list your experience on GetYourGuide, Viator and Klook and manage it afterwards. We list and run our own walking tours, Japan Trails, on experience booking sites too.
From our own experience as a seller,
we build listings that get booked.
We list and run Japan Trails, our walking tours for visitors to Japan, on experience booking sites. We have seen how commission is taken, how listings get sent back at review, and how to handle last-minute bookings — from the seller's side.
With that experience, we list and manage experiences for kimono rental, tea ceremony and other experience businesses. A kimono rental shop came to us not knowing how to set up their OTA pages; we built their products on Viator and GetYourGuide, and sales rose 100% year on year.

What we take on
SCOPE
Once you are listed, what decides the number of bookings is whether the duration, meeting point and cancellation terms can be fully understood in English.
- Checks before applying
- We check whether booking can be completed online, whether the duration and meeting point are fixed, and who will update availability. We also count how many similar experiences are already listed on the site you are aiming for.
- Choosing the first site
- We choose by where your guests come from. GetYourGuide's customers are mainly in Europe, Viator's in the United States and Klook's in Southeast Asia.
- Product page and application
- We write a product page where the duration, meeting point and cancellation terms are clear in English, gather the photos and apply. If similar experiences are already listed, we change the combination — adding a photo shoot to a kimono rental, for example.
- Pricing review
- We check what the commission is charged on and at what rate, and rework the pricing together with the listing.
- After listing
- Most OTA bookings come at the last minute, so we set the listing to accept bookings one or two days ahead and on the day. We review the listing and prices against bookings and sales.
Who it suits
FOR YOUR SHOP
- Stuck on the application in English
- One of our engagements began with a shop that had stalled on the application because it was in English. As long as the product page and standard post-booking messages work in English, the application can go ahead.
- Listed, but no bookings
- If the duration, meeting point and cancellation terms cannot be understood in English, people stop before booking whichever site you are on. That is the first thing we check.
- Rejected for being too similar
- Listings that resemble existing ones are sent back. We change the combination or the angle so the difference is clear, then reapply.
How we work
FLOW
One person is your contact from the first conversation to the final report.
Looking at where you are
Before applying, we look at how ready you are; if you are already listed, we look at your product pages and bookings.
Choosing the site
We pick the first site from where your guests come from and what you offer. A second site comes only once we know how much work the first one takes.
Product page and application
We prepare the English product page and photos and apply. If it is sent back, we change it and resubmit.
Management and reporting
We keep reviewing the listing and pricing against bookings and sales, and report the results and what to improve next.
CASE STUDIES
CASES
A kimono rental shop
We have worked with them since March 2025. It began with not knowing how to set up their OTA pages; we went on to build their products on Viator and GetYourGuide, build their website, put their Google Maps listing in order, run Google Maps ads and suggest changes to the interior. The result wasa 100% year-on-year increase in sales, and reviews grew from 50 to 200 over the past year. Bookings and search rankings went up as well.
The commission actually taken from us as a seller is 25% on GetYourGuide. On Viator you set the rate yourself, and the higher it is, the more likely you are to rank near the top. On Klook the rate is set for each product, and no single rate is published.
The earliest bookings come about three months ahead, but most guests decide what to do during their trip, so most bookings are last-minute.
When we registered as a seller, one site's contract required us to price lower than on any other OTA. We have also had a listing sent back for being too similar to an existing one.
FAQ
QWhich booking sites do you work with?
GetYourGuide, Viator and Klook. We list our own walking tours on booking sites, so we help with listing pages and pricing from the seller's side.
QHow much commission do the sites take?
Under our own contracts, GetYourGuide takes 25%. On Viator you set the rate yourself, and a higher rate tends to rank higher. On Klook the rate is set for each product, and no single rate is published. Your rate may differ, so we confirm it from the terms each site offers when you apply.
QCan we list without speaking English?
As long as the product page and standard post-booking messages work in English, the application can go ahead. One of our engagements began with a shop that had stalled on the English application. How much of the day itself is in English is stated in the description.
QWhat if the listing is sent back at review?
Listings can be sent back for resembling existing ones. Refilling the fields will not get it through, so we change the combination or angle to make the difference clear, then reapply.
QHow far ahead do bookings come in?
The earliest are about three months ahead, but most are last-minute. So we set the listing to accept bookings one or two days ahead and on the day.
QShould we list on several sites at once?
We start with one site, finish the product page in English and see how much work it takes before adding a second. On several sites, one missed availability update becomes a double booking.
QHow much does it cost?
As a guide, landing page and OTA listing setup starts from JPY 50,000. Ongoing management after listing is quoted individually, once we know your current listings, your products and the scope.
