Social media management for inbound visitors
We run Instagram for restaurants and cafes that welcome visitors from abroad, from filming in your shop through editing, English captions and hashtags, posting and replying to comments. Mainly in Tokyo.
From the shoot to the English post,
we take on everything that can be done outside your shop.
On our tours, the apps our guests open on their own phones are Google Maps, Instagram and WhatsApp. When we pass a shop with a queue outside, word has usually spread on Instagram or TikTok first.
TABICO handles filming, editing, posting and replying to comments, with Instagram at the centre. It is for shops that cannot find time to film and edit between services, so we take the whole job off your hands. We currently run social media for a coffee shop in Tokyo.
I also run Ono in Japan, a YouTube channel in English for visitors to Japan. It has about 22,000 subscribers (October 2026) and 3 million views in total.

What we take on
SCOPE
Apart from hosting the shoot and approving posts, we take on everything that can be done outside your shop.
- Filming
- We come to your shop to film dishes, the interior, the exterior and staff at work. For the accounts we run, we film once every two weeks, for an hour and a half to two hours each time.
- Structure and editing
- We decide what to shoot and in what order to publish it, then build and edit each reel. Editing takes an hour to an hour and a half per reel.
- English captions and hashtags
- We write captions in English and choose hashtags from place names and dish names. The accounts we run have captions written entirely in English.
- Profile set-up
- We put four things into English — name, type of business, location and where to book — and keep the profile link to a few destinations. We also rethink the order of your photos.
- Posting and replies
- Besides posting, we reply to comments. We can also reply to the reviews in other languages that arrive on Google Maps.
- Review and reporting
- We do not judge by follower count alone. We look at reach by country and report the results and what to improve next.
Who it suits
FOR YOUR SHOP
What stays with you is supplying photos and drafting replies to one- and two-star reviews, because only the people who were there know what happened in the shop.
- No time to film and edit
- We spend an hour and a half to two hours on each shoot and an hour to an hour and a half editing each reel. It suits shops that cannot find that time between services.
- No one on staff writes English
- We write the English captions on Instagram and the replies to comments and reviews in other languages.
- Reaching more platforms
- Because we do the filming and editing, the same material can go out on several platforms. Adding a platform does not double the work.
How we work
FLOW
One person is your contact from the first conversation to the final report.
Looking at your account
We look at your current profile and posts and decide which fields to put into English and what to film. If your Google Maps listing has gaps, we fill those first.
Filming
We come to your shop and film the dishes, the interior, the entrance and how to get in — roughly once every two weeks, for an hour and a half to two hours.
Editing and posting
We edit mainly reels and post them with English captions and hashtags. You approve each post before it goes out.
Reporting
We look at reach by country alongside what your guests tell you, and report the results and what to improve next.
CASE STUDIES
CASES
A coffee shop in Tokyo
Instagram management. We direct everything from filming and editing to posting. We previously also handled their local search and replies to reviews in other languages. Some of their posts have reached 10,000 and 100,000 views.
On the accounts we run, we mainly post reels.
When we ask guests at a shop we look after, more of them say they found it on Instagram. The rise in walk-ins came while we were also filling in the Google Maps listing, so we see it as the result of both.
